The Electricianz

With a mission to meet the demand for high-quality watches at an attractive price (range from RM1,590 - RM1,700), THE ELECTRICIANZ is born. Hailing from Switzerland, this new watch brand arrived in Malaysia at Red Army Watches this December with the launch of four fearless timepieces: The Dresscode, The Mokas, The Ammeter and The Blackout.

Upholding the tradition of its forefathers in Swiss watchmaking, The Electricianz brings an urban twist to the classic wristwatch. Inspired by electric art, its unapologetic design will shake up the conservative luxury landscape of watches - bringing a new spirit to the market of timepieces.

To create its offbeat and innovative design, The Electricianz drew from contemporary visual arts and underground cultures. Making its inner mechanism, powered by electricity, visible is a vibrant homage to the mechanical world hidden under digital surfaces. With this authentic design, The Electricianz moves away from the ever-growing technological add-ons to creatively showcase the transmission of energy in its simplest form.

“An Electricianz watch is a call to one’s inner childish curiosity about the physical world, from the time where quests consisted of uncovering “how things work”, explains Founder and CEO Laurent Rufenacht.

The movement is an in-house The Electricianz module designed on a Miyota 2033 base that runs on a 1X Flat cell 1225 CR battery. Each watch has a 45mm case with a hardened mineral K1 Glass that is water-resistant to 30 metres. Its pusher activates a 4X LED white light function to tell you the time in style at night.

1. The Dresscode


Possesses a traditional elegance - with its black calfskin leather strap and PVD gold pusher and crown - injected with The Electricianz’s urban and modern style. Being the first of all ELECTRICIANZ, it is the brand’s timeless must-have. The watch subtly intertwines the true values of Swiss luxury horlogerie and a fierce spirit of independence, and of course style.

2. The Mokaz


Features a brown calfskin leather nato strap that complements the dark grey mass-colored nylon case and the pops of bronze in its PVD pusher, crown, and bezel. Its autumn colors elegantly enhance the volume of the watch, putting forth its depth and roundness.

3. The Ammeter


The bold sibling of the four with a fierce mix of red and yellow that is reminiscent of vivid murals on cities’ walls. Its black calfskin leather with red stitches holds a bold yellow mass-colored nylon case. Blitz and fire merge into the Ammeter to create a true ELECTRICIANZ look.

4. The Blackout


Exudes a steampunk vibe with its shades of coal and brown brought out by the rustic brown display against the black mass-colored nylon case with carbon compounds and patina-black calfskin leather. This mysterious piece is a true rebel exploring the late-night city streets.

Even the box is so unique and unconventional.

My favorite has to be The Mokaz, it matches my usual street style and I can see how versatile I can style that, be it with casual dress or my slightly grunge look.
