EVENT: Opening of Mak’s Chee Authentic Wonton Mee Second Outlet in Pavilion Elite KL

First of all, a big congratulation to Mak's Chee for opening it's second outlet at Pavilion Elite KL (next to ABC Cooking Studio) on 1st May 2017 following the huge success of its first outlet in One Utama last year.

Mak's Chee (麦氏西池港式云吞面) is a casual quick restaurant that serves authentic Hong Kong style prawn wonton noodles, famous with its 100-year old recipe from the Mak's family.

You gotta try this! This is so special, you can't find anywhere else. The prawn roe is crispy to bite, eat it while it's still warm.

I really like their wonton because the prawn is still whole piece in it and it's super fresh. They definitely know what they doing.

Limited Time Promotional Dish - Swiss Chicken Leg (瑞士鸡髀)

In conjunction with the opening of its second outlet, Mak's Chee introducing a new, delectable and authentic limited time promotional dish - Swiss Chicken Leg (瑞士鸡髀), slow-cooked with sweet soy sauce and a variety of herbs and spices. A very traditional chinese way of cooking huh!

So it got me wondering why is it Swiss Chicken Leg? I really thought it was origin or somehow inspired by the recipe of Switzerland.

Turns out, it really wasn't from Switzerland. According to the Managing Director of Mak's Chee, Mr. Gary Crestejo, it was just a mispronunciation by the local Hong Kong servant when a Westerner ask them what is this dish called, it was supposed to be "Sweet Chicken Leg", but he mispronounced it as "Swiss Chicken Leg", hence the name.

Anyway, this dish is available right here in Mak's Chee Malaysia at an introductory promotional price starting from RM9.90 per plate only, from 4th May - 31st July 2017.
