EAT: Ramadan Bersama Keluarga in Awana Genting
May 16, 2017
This the season, Ramadan a.k.a. the month of fasting is happening real soon in about 2 weeks' time.
Why not try something different this year? Break the fast in the cloud nine, with a little breeze.
I'm talking about Buka Puasa in Rajawali Coffee House, Awana Hotel Genting, which is only less than 1-hour drive from the city centre; with their theme this year - Ramadan Bersama Keluarga in Awana, it brings out even more spirit of reunion and get together with your family during the festive season.
Rajawali Coffee House at Awana Hotel has long been renowned for its sumptuous buffet spread, offering great variety and affordability (without breaking the bank yay!) LOL
You are wrong if you think there's only traditional Malay fare offered, they have signature dishes from Western to Asian, from Australian Roast Lamb, Mushroom Soup, Ipoh Curry Mee, Ayam Percik, Ikan Bakar, Char Kuay Teow and many more! All in all up to 100 dishes.
And one thing that you can't find elsewhere to go with your meal - the picturesque mountain resort view + the breeze!

Dawn-to-dusk fasting means food plays a big role during the holy month of Ramadan; the body needs much nourishing after the long hours of abstinence from food. The fast-breaking meal known as Iftar daily ritual during Ramadan-traditionally features a menu that includes hearty soups and stews, fruits, juices, milk, dates and water.
Starter
From the cold kitchen, Aneka Kerabu.
To Aneka Ulam Ulaman.
Most people would begin their meal with a soup - and the Rajawali spoil you with choices of soup, from their specialty this time around - Citarasa (which includes chicken slices and Roti Banggali) to Mushroom Soup and Tomyam Soup.
This being Malaysia, no buffet is complete without Penang or Ipoh food, so they have 2 counters offering this!
Sotong Kangkung.
And more Sotong and Kangkung. I like having this in buffet because I can control the portion of what I like in a plate, more kangkungggggg.
Mains
Or make your own Curry Mee.
Australian Roast Lamb, the meat is unbelievably tender, my favorite among all dishes!

Make your own Beef Noodles.
I didn't tasted this soup, but it indeed looking flavorful by looking how much ingredients they put in.
No Malaysian buffet is complete without satay. Yums.
For people who can't live a meal without carbs.
Dessert
Long list of sweets and desserts available should keep diners with a sweet tooth happy, from Kuih Lapis to Bubur Kacang Hijau to Goreng Ais Campur & Cendol.
Even I know I'll be regret and probably full to death after tasting every piece of each kuih, I'd still do this over and over again.
Because this is the color of joy!
By the time the diner decides to settle back to enjoy their drink for the evening - Air Sirap Bandung, Air Sirap Selasih, Air Asam Boi and Air Mata Kuching, among the options - they no doubt would agree that it's been one wonderfully satisfying meal.
The Men
In conjunction to this, Awana Genting do have room package along with Ramadan promo, going from only RM360 for a night stay, plus Ramadan buffet and breakfast buffet. Super steal!
Besides breaking the fast with family here, one can consider to have their yearly Buka Puasa for corporate event here too, since Rajawali Coffee House can fit up to 400 - 500 persons.
